Exposed aggregate concrete contains aggregates (such as stones, pebbles, or shells) that are visible on the surface of the concrete once it is finished. These aggregates can be of different sizes and colors, making exposed aggregate concrete a popular decorative option for driveways, patios, and walkways.
On the other hand, standard concrete does not contain any visible aggregates and has a smooth, plain surface. It is commonly used for building foundations, walls, and floors.
In terms of durability, exposed aggregate is generally more durable than standard concrete as the aggregates provide additional strength and resistance to wear and tear. However, exposed aggregate is more prone to cracking and can be more difficult to repair compared to standard concrete.
Overall, the main difference between exposed aggregate and standard concrete is aesthetic. Exposed aggregate offers a unique and decorative finish, while standard concrete is a more utilitarian option.
Concreting a standard-sized driveway and house perimeter can take anywhere from a 3 days to 2 weeks. The time frame is also dependent on several factors such as
Size and Complexity: The size of the driveway and perimeter, as well as any intricate design elements or slopes, can impact the timeline. Larger areas and complex layouts may take more time to complete.
Weather Conditions: Weather plays a crucial role in concreting. Extreme heat, cold, rain, or humidity can affect the curing time and pouring concrete during such weather conditions is not ideal which would delay completion of the project.
We are looking forward to work with you on your next project. Please feel free to email or call us.
